Outsider Art

Cwilt Cymru member Judy Stephens has two textile pieces in an exhibition, called Outsider Art, which opened today (Sunday) at a gallery in Cardiff Bay’s famous Bute Street. The exhibition has been created by the Butetown History and Arts Centre.  The photographs show a stitched piece mounted on canvas, titled “One was lame and could not dance” and a framed collage called “The music stopped and I stood still.” The inspiration was Robert Browning’s poem The Pied Piper of Hamlin.  The pieces are displayed next to a wonderfully scary storyteller by Adam Griffiths called “To be afraid of the animals is to be afraid of one self”.
Judy also has three framed textile pieces from her SLOW DOWN series at a new exhibition in Cardiff’s SHO Gallery in Roath.
