Helfa Gelf Art Trail is the North Wales open studios event which runs each weekend throughout September. Cwilt Cymru member Bethan M. Hughes is taking part this year for the first time and is exhibiting art quilts at the Carriageworks in Denbigh until September 19th and then will be artist in residence at St Peter’s Church, Ruthin on September 26/27.
“It would be lovely to welcome visitors to both venues and to show them my work. I’m delighted by the response so far – Helfa Gelf is such a wonderful opportunity to reach a wider art audience. I shall be demonstrating my work at the Carriageworks on September 13th and 19th, and at St Peter’s on the last weekend of September I’ll be running a hands-on activity to create a piece of textile art to display in the church. This weekend is also the Open Doors weekend in Ruthin when many of the town’s historical buildings are open to the public.”
