Judy is a long-standing member of both the Embroiderers’ Guild and the Quilters’ Guild and is currently on the Judging Committee of the latter. She has been asked to write articles for several textile publications  publications recently.She has taught City & Guilds textile courses for nearly 20 years and often gives talks to groups about her own work. As a member of Contemporary Quilt her quilts have been exhibited nationally and internationally.

Judy likes to challenge herself to use unusual fabrics and her quilts have incorporated paper, plastic , leather or Evolon plus various mixed media techniques. She has increasingly used the computer as an aid to designing. She also has an abiding love of colour and pattern and this is evident in her work.

Recent work has been inspired by a visit along part of the Silk Road  through Uzbekistan, Krygyzstan and China and when guest artist with Cwilt Cymru she continued the general theme with two quilts inspired by Macclesfield Silk Museum.
